Who’s Who?

Portlaoise Credit Union is controlled and directed by a voluntary Board of Directors. The Board is elected by the Members of the Credit Union at the Annual General Meeting, which is held in Portlaoise every November.

The Board appoints a Manager and staff to run the day-to-day operations of the Credit Union. Monthly Board meetings set policy, plan for the future development of the Credit Union and monitor the operations and finances.

The Board is comprised of thirteen members of different backgrounds and ages who share an enthusiasm for Credit Union, some skills that are of use to the Board and a willingness to spend a few hours every week to discharge their duties.

The current Chairman of the Credit Union is Philip Coonan. The Vice Chairman is Seamus McGrath, the Secretary is Kieran Brosnan, and the Treasurer is Trudy Nealon.

Other Board members are Margaret Carroll, Tony Mahon, Har Fingleton Clive Davis, Joe Quigley, John Meehan, Frank Cronin, Marcella Dowling and Billy Fitzpatrick.

At the Annual General Meeting, the Members also elect an independent Supervisory Committee whose role is to carry out checks to ensure that the Board is operating properly and that the interests of the members are protected. The current Supervisory Committee members are  Rita Murphy-Kerry, Phil Coughlan, Patsy Campion, Elaine Kelly and Mary Carmody.

The Manager is Sean Dunne. The other staff members are: Bernard O’Grady, Noeleen Dempsey, Nicola Fitzpatrick, Emer Conroy, Anne-Marie Keating, Lisa Reddin, Sandra Bergin, Jerry Deegan, Deirdre Fingleton, Deirdre Walsh, Michelle Langton, Sharon Murtagh, Anne Blanchfield, Liz Flanagan, Colm Gleeson, Sarah Delaney and Stephanie Nealon.
